Ainslie Heilich
tattooer/owner
Ainslie was always the kid in school who spent time drawing instead of taking notes. They weren’t just random doodles, though; it was all part of what would become a 500-page comic book. This obsessive focus is now put into every tattoo he does.
After earning an art degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, Ainslie began tattooing in 2004, and he founded Vintage Karma in 2007. The award-winning artist is also featured in the book “Bodies of Subversion” by Margot Mifflin.
Currently, Ainslie is focusing on larger scale realism based imagery, portraits, and coverups/reworks. When you come for your first appointment he will sit down and do a full consultation with you to come up with the direction of the project. Sit back and watch magic happen.
Visit Ainslie’s website Redo Your Tattoo to learn more about his transformative coverup tattoos.
In his free time, Ainslie is very active in his Odd Fellows Lodge . He is a 2019 recipient of the prestigious Central Illinois Business Forty Under 40 Award for his continued achievements, leadership and community involvement in the Champaign-Urbana area and the Odd Fellows “Meritorious Service Award” and “Decoration of Chivalry”.
